One of my favourite types of portraits is people I meet on my travels. Either through an assignment for a commercial client or an editorial portrait job or even someone I stop in the street as a chance photo. There is something about putting someone in their environment to help tell the story, and stories are at the very heart of what an environmental portrait is all about.

These are my favourite types of portraits and I go about of my way to try and do as many of them as I can. From a photography standpoint they do pose quite a few challenges though. Sometimes it is often difficult to get all my equipment to the location or the light is really bad and the photo I wanted to shoot doesn’t always happen so we have to come up with a plan B but that is what makes theses portraits so fun – the challenges they pose.

I hope you like them and please do get in touch by emailing me HERE
